Description General Responsibilities: As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be responsible for Product Security as outlined in ISO21434. The scope of your work on any given project depends on the project deliverables and the number of staff assigned to that product. Job Responsibilities: The main duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Leading and advising cybersecurity design for the safety, software, hardware, and system teams in all appropriate areas, including the creation of an Item Definition for Threat Analysis, etc.
- As cybersecurity engineering expert, provide guidance to a team of fellow subject matter experts who design and build all aspects of automotive technology.
- Analyzing customer cybersecurity requirements and ensuring all requirements are addressed in the product design.
- Performing Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) of an ECU or system.
- Creating Cybersecurity Goals, Claims, and Requirements from identified threats.
- Creating a Cybersecurity Concept
- Performing vulnerability analysis on security relevant features.
- Implementing selected software features or configurations that are critical to product security.
- Approving Test Plans and Test Result for security relevant features.
- Supporting the Astemo Global PSIRT when setting up monitoring for new products and in responding to product cybersecurity events.
Qualifications: The Ideal candidate will be familiar with the following:
- Cybersecurity. Formal understanding and working knowledge of cyber engineering topics including pen test, Red, Blue, and Purple Team research and analysis, threat and risk management, incident management, and other security techniques. Automotive cyber and engineering certifications preferred.
- Microcontrollers. 32-bit automotive multi-core micros, Renesas RH850 family; Infineon Aurix TCxx family, Qualcomm Snapdragon preferred
- Software Development Tools. Lauterbach T32 debuggers, CAN development tools like CANalyzer, CANape, Cross compilers, static code analysis, in-circuit debuggers, serial communication tools, HIL systems, measurement & calibration tools.
- Cybersecurity Analysis Tools. - General or specific familiarity with security analysis tools (e.g. Kali Linux, Metasploit, JTagulator, Ghidra, Refirm, etc.)
- Test Equipment. Oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.
- Communication Protocols. UDS, GMLAN, FNOS. CAN, CANFD, LIN, SENT, Ethernet.
- Application Domains. Basic Software (BSW), AUTOSAR, QNX, AGL, Android for Automotive, Unix-like OS, other RTOS and embedded OS
- Language. Good verbal and written English skills.
- Independence. Able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Teamwork. Able to work well as a member of a team, providing and receiving correction well.
- PC Competence. Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools.
Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience Experience: 5 - 7 years applicable experience in software development or equivalent. 2+ years applicable experience in product security or equivalent. Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Working conditions:
- Travel: Domestic travel may be required for training, conferences, or customer relations. The preferences of the candidate will be considered.
- Location: This is a remote work position. Proximity to the Farmington Hills office is a plus. Eastern Time zone is preferred.
