About the Role

We're seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll work closely with the Store Manager to drive sales, develop staff, and ensure excellent store operations while supporting The Salvation Army's mission of service.

Pay Rate: $17/Hour


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Store Manager to achieve sales goals and optimize store performance
  • Train and supervise store staff, providing guidance and support for their development
  • Maintain store appearance and safety standards in compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Implement customer development and retention strategies
  • Manage banking and record-keeping procedures
  • Monitor and control expenses within budget parameters
  • Ensure store compliance with all Salvation Army policies and procedures
  • Support community engagement and positive brand representation


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associate's Degree preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years retail management experience (thrift store experience a plus)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early shifts, late shifts, and weekends
  • Physical ability to move throughout sales floor, stockroom, and office

Supervisory Duties

  • Support staff training and development
  • Assist with performance reviews and corrective actions
  • Manage time and attendance using current payroll system
  • Ensure compliance with workplace regulations
