Description

The Accountant II performs a wide variety of general and specialized accounting functions, analysis and reporting requiring the broad knowledge and applications of accounting principles and practices. Responsible for all tasks as assigned, including but not limited to:

  • Basic, and intermediate financial/accounting tasks/functions.
  • Analyzing trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments.
  • Coaching/mentoring of junior staff.

To be successful in this position, the individual must be able to manage their time effectively, display a high level of organizational skills as well as honesty and integrity when producing, delivering, and distributing information and must have a high level of confidentiality at all times. Works under immediate supervision. Ensures excellent internal and external client relations at all times.

Requirements
  • Responsible for all assigned financial and accounting tasks/functions. This may include (but is not limited to) management of transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, prepaid assets, expenses, revenue, assets, liabilities, payroll, etc. This may include journal entries, reconciliations, etc. Ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and prepare a variety of internal reports, including (but not limited to) production reporting, operating budget variance reporting, and compliance reporting.
  • Assist in reviewal/approval of journal entries, reconciliations, etc. when needed. Assisting/training of new and junior staff when needed.
  • Participation in accounting/finance projects as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly regulatory financial reporting.
  • Answer inquiries from senior management, external auditors and regulatory authorities regarding accounting policies, procedures, and/or records.
  • Increase familiarity with a wide variety of the accounting and financial field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Assist management in maintaining standard operating procedures and internal controls systems.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, seminars, and/or training as required.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations and laws.
  • Adhere to all Texas Partners Bank policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriated by accounting/finance leadership.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; at least two years of accounting experience.
  • Banking experience and/or knowledge a plus. Payroll experience a plus.
