Job Summary

This position will provide 8 half days of direct patient care in the our Midtown ambulatory practice location, using clinical assessment, diagnostic and treatment skills and appropriate consultation and collaboration with physicians, consistent with education and experience in the specialty of Gastroenterology, specifically in the areas of IBD, hepatology, motility, general GI and advanced endoscopy. #CA-AP

Minimum Qualifications

  • One (1) year or greater experience as a physician's assistant
  • One (1) year of greater recent clinical experience in GI
  • California Licensed Physicians Assistant (PA)
  • DEA within 3 months of hire
  • National PA board certification in an aligned specialty with the practice area
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR certification
  • Graduation with a master's degree, or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Judgement skills to effectively meet the needs of patients
  • Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role
  • Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider

Department Overview

The Department of Internal Medicine - Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology provides services to more than 28,000 patients per year. The Division of Gastroenterology has 25+ faculty and other academics, 9 fellows, and 5 advanced practice providers delivering services at 6 UCDH ambulatory locations throughout the Sacramento region.
