Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for an Advanced Hardware Engineer to join us in our San Jose, CA location. This position provides an opportunity to further advance cutting-edge technologies that support some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences:

  • Experience in our core technical discipline of RF signal collection & analysis systems
  • Experience with RF system design and tradeoffs, including antennas, and RF lab equipment
  • Experience with server configuration (hardware selection and Linux configuration) and networking
  • Experience with DSP, signal analysis, and communication protocols
  • Experience with FPGA development, particularly with DSP applications
  • Cross-discipline experience, including software (Matlab and C++), hardware integration, system integration & test
  • Effective written & oral communicator, including strong skills in development of customer presentations
  • Passionate about designing & building high-quality systems
  • Ability to work in project teams of highly talented technologists

Target salary range: USD $134,400.00/Yr. - USD $149,100.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
