Community Engagement Aide

The City of Peoria seeks to hire a Community Engagement Aide in the Parks & Recreation Department. The purpose of this position is to provide excellent customer service to Jr Ranger, Peoria+, and Rec'n Crew program attendees by exemplifying a positive attitude and providing support to staff suited in one of the department's primary mascots. This is accomplished by assisting with providing guidance to mascots, assisting mascots with program goals, communicating with program attendees, and providing excellent service. This position assists the Recreation Coordinator, Recreation Programmer, and Engagement Specialist positions in executing planned events, programs, or activities.

Essential Functions:

• Assists with the execution of an activity, event, or program with minimal direction. Exercises the necessary caution in assisting mascots of personnel to meet the needs of the activity, event, or program.
• Communicates to the assigned supervisor regarding incidents, decisions, and issues pertaining to activities, events, or programs. Responsible for the completion and filing of accident and statistical reports regarding incidents and issues pertaining to programs, as required.
• Assists with the distribution, care, and use of supplies and/or equipment for assigned programs.
• Maintains awareness of new developments in the field and offers suggestions to the Recreation Coordinator.
• Attend meetings as assigned. Assist with other recreation programs, as requested.
• Some positions may require the performance of additional position accountabilities and/or related duties.

Hourly Rate: $15.21

The full hiring range for this position is $15.21 - $19.01

• Mindfulness to assist with all facets of creating a successful event including registration, event execution, and post event wrap up.

Minimum Requirements:

• Prior customer service experience preferred
• No minimum education requirement
• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
• Valid AZ Driver's License is preferred
