Global Support Engineering RF

As the Global Support Engineering, RF you will be the first point of contact in the SES Global Services Network Operations team providing support to our customers both internally and externally. You are responsible for the technical fault resolution of RF infrastructure comprising of antennas and supporting equipment, and modems that cover the entire service path. You will work closely with Level-2 RF Engineers to further develop and maintain enhancements in processes and tools to improve op-erational efficiency.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Fault isolation through events and trends from multiple systems to diagnose and restore customer services, caused by RF services related interruptions or failures
  • Follow step by step procedure for fault detection and identification using RF guidelines and work instructions set forth by SES engineering teams
  • Take ownership of customer incidents and complaints through to resolution or escalation to Level 2
  • Follow standard procedures for RF antennas and electrical motor systems supporting the antennas, with escalation of unresolved Incidents to the appropriate internal teams
  • Initiate, update and resolve incident records and convey actions taken to customers
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
  • Ability to articulate complex technical issues in business terms, and explain customer impact
  • Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills on RF services and infrastructure, with working knowledge IP Networking

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or similar field or 2-4 years of related experience
  • Experience operating remote connectivity tools
  • Basic knowledge of IP networking
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shift schedule, nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred

  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Proficiency in multiple languages
  • Satellite Communications industry experience

The base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000 - $75,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target salary for new hires in Bristow, Virginia. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
