Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

POSITION SUMMARY
The nurse practitioner shall work in collaboration with the practicing physicians and provide health care for patients. This care includes history taking, physical exams, diagnoses, prescribing of medications, treatment plans and the appropriate use of ancillary services.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE
A Registered Nurse with endorsement as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with prescriptive authority from the Vermont Board of Nursing. The Nurse Practitioner should be licensed by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

EXPERIENCE
Three to five years' experience in direct patient care required. One to two years' experience in an expanded nursing role i.e. completing physical exams preferred.
