About the Hiring Group The Biomedical Technologies Group at RTI International is a diverse research team in the design and development of innovative polymeric systems for health applications, with a focus on translation to early-stage products. The team is advancing various drug delivery systems such as topical formulations for pain management, nanoparticle-based mucosal vaccines, and subcutaneous implants for different medical indications. More recently, the Biomedical Technologies group is addressing the rising concerns of human health impacts from exposure to micro/nanoplastics, which now exist as ubiquitous global contaminants. By using well-characterized nanoplastics, the team is assessing the effects from the oral and inhaled exposure to these materials. The group is highly collaborative across RTI and externally, leveraging interdisciplinary expertise to advance research and development activities. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist with a strong background in nano/microparticle therapeutic delivery. Ideally, you will have significant research experience, and the capability to contribute to business development through writing research proposals for government-funded projects. You will lead research initiatives, developing innovative therapeutic delivery systems, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to advance our scientific goals. What You'll Do
Additionally, you will plan, execute, and manage research projects, ensuring that all milestones and deliverables are completed on time. This involves maintaining detailed and accurate records of research activities, including data analysis and reporting. You will supervise and mentor junior researchers and graduate students, providing guidance throughout their work, collaborating closely with both internal and external partners, including academic institutions, industry stakeholders, and regulatory agencies. Your research findings will be regularly published in peer-reviewed journals, and you will present our work at scientific conferences., staying up to date with the latest advancements and scientific literature in the field of nano/microparticle therapeutic delivery.
