Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty members tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

Position Overview

The Ohio State Universitys School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member within the PhD program at the Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor rank. We are seeking faculty who will: sustain or develop an extramurally funded and productive scholarship program through grants, publications, and presentations; teach within the PhD program and in other programs in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences consistent with expertise, mentor students in each program; and contribute to service needs of the School, College, University and appropriate professional organizations. The preferred scholar will complement existing strengths within the School and at the OSU Wexner Medical Center.

Performance Objectives

  • Maintains active scholarship: Serves as principal investigator and/or co-investigator on competitive extramural grants; presents scholarly work at international, national, and regional meetings; disseminates scholarly work through high-impact peer-reviewed journals and/or scientific professional meetings.
  • Develops, plans, and delivers core and elective courses within the School of Health and Rehabilitations PhD programs; and participates in curriculum design and revisions.
  • Actively participates in service to Division, School, College, University, professional and community organizations; and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

PhD or equivalent in a related field; strong evidence of or potential to develop anextramurally funded and productive scholarship program in a discipline of health and rehabilitation sciences or related field; evidence of strong teaching ability; ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students.

Desired: Scholarly and teaching expertise in one or more areas related to health and rehabilitation sciences.
