The host is the first and last contact the guest has with our lodge; therefore, how you represent Chimney Rock goes a long way in determining whether the guest will become a regular. Hosts are required to possess professionalism, a friendly and welcoming demeanor, and an efficient manner. Applicants should be 16 years or o ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Professionally and calmly maintain steady, even flow of seating. Responsible to greet all guests and respond appropriately to requests and special needs. Give guests the approximate wait they may experience and offer them a beverage. Seat guests with consideration guest preference, servers' workload, and seating capacity. Hand out menus to guests and bring booster seats or highchairs for young guests. Quickly inform servers of where guests have been seated and relay any special requests. Thank guests for dining upon leaving and invite them to return. Perform other tasks to assist in the smooth operation of the restaurant to assure guest satisfaction. Will clean and reset tables. Help servers with side work. Serve guests water and refill soda. Must be available nights and weekends. The typical shift is 10:00am-4:00pm or 4:00pm-9:00pm. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Combined standing and walking position for up to 8 hours per shift. Will get breaks as available. Required to lift up to 50lbs occasionally. Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level on a frequent basis; Worksite is inside and outside. All sensory skills needed. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SKILLS: Exceptional customer service skills EDUCATION: English reading, writing and communication, basic math EXPERIENCE: None LICENSE NEEDED: None MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Coffee grinder, coffee brewer, elevator, hot chocolate machine, vacuum. JUDGMENT/MENTAL COMPLEXITY: Moderate to high REVIEW SCHEDULE: This position and the person filling it will be evaluated once a season.
