This Physician Assistant will be responsible for:
  • Administering IV conscious sedation, including IV placement, peri-, intra-, and post-procedural assessment/monitoring of patients undergoing IV sedation in the office based setting
  • Providing comprehensive healthcare services to both plastic and oral surgery patients of all ages and with all types of conditions. Eliciting histories, perform examinations, order and interpret diagnostic studies, instruct and counsel patients about their diagnosis in the outpatient setting
  • All aspects of pre-operative and post-operative care for both plastic and oral surgery procedures, as well as first or second assisting during surgery.
  • Facilitating the appropriate referral of patients, consistent with his or her supervising physician's scope of expertise and responsibility and delegated to him/her by the supervising physician
  • Working 40 hours per week: four 10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday

To qualify, you must have:

  • Master's degree from a Physician Assistant Program
  • Current Massachusetts Physician Assistant License
  • Preferred 1 year of emergency medicine experience, either as a PA in emergency medicine or as an EMT providing or assisting with ACLS level of care.
  • Ability to travel to Boston Children's Hospital satellite locations
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a collaborative atmosphere
  • Analytical skills, application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge
  • Strong communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and medicated fair solutions, and well-developed writing skills
