Maintenance / Driver

The Salvation Army Joplin Corps located in Joplin, Missouri, is looking for a Maintenance Technician. This individual will perform all functions of a maintenance worker which includes but is not limited to: Ensure that building, grounds, vehicles, and equipment receive proper maintenance and are cleaned in a timely fashion

This is a part-time position 25 hours per week with starting pay of $15.00 per hour.

Essential Functions



  1. Inspect facilities/grounds regularly and take appropriate action.
  2. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, appliances, furniture and facilities.
  3. Perform and assist with maintenance as assigned
  4. Ensure all Corps / Unit vehicles are maintained and kept clean.
  5. Perform janitorial cleaning duties as assigned.
  6. Assist with maintenance of parking lot.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma/equivalent and two years related experience with some supervisory experience. Position requires basic communications with visitors, clients and staff. The ability to read and comprehend written material, cleaning instructions and material safety data sheet. Requires appropriate valid driver's license (i.e. Class E for MO, or JO2 for IL.) and pass MVR check.

Physical and Working Conditions

Capable of frequently lifting 30 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds and frequently moves 100 pounds or more using dolly/cart/truck. Occasionally climb a ladder to work (replace light bulbs, etc.). Some of this work will be outdoors and will be cold in the winter and hot in the summer.
