POSITION SUMMARY

The Deskside Support Technician is responsible for providing technical and general computer support to all users of the organization's computer systems. Responsibilities include ordering and installing desktop hardware and software, software support, telecom support, system configuration, troubleshooting problems, maintaining inventories, providing hardware repairs and maintenance, upgrading systems, arranging for cabling and communication lines, and coordination of services with other Information Technology staff. The Technician has an obligation to provide a high level of customer service to system users throughout the organization and is responsible for the appropriate prioritization and management of technical problems and requests.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work well with other staff, peers, vendors, and leadership.

Technical skills and knowledge required for implementation, and support of computers, peripherals, software, and network.

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Organizational skills, ability to work independently, and ability to work in cross-functional teams. Excellent customer service skills.

Excellent documentation skills.

Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of CVMC and Health Network users, including senior management and physicians, as well as outside vendors, consultants, and healthcare organizations.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3 year's IT experience.

Associate's degree or formal technical training or equivalent experience. Must possess a valid Vermont driver's license and safe driving record

Cisco Professional Certification is desired but not required.
