Job Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, and financial reporting. The CFO will also oversee budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is crucial in ensuring the organization remains financially sustainable while maximizing the impact of our program and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's mission and long-term goals
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, including the development of financial forecasts and long-term financial plans.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the Board of Trustees, Executive Leaders, and Operational Leaders
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risk management financial risks to the organization, including maintaining adequate insurance coverage and managing investments
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations, as well as nonprofit and hospital industry standards
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance and accounting teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
  • Grant Management: Oversee the financial management of grants, including reporting and compliance with donor requirements
  • Audit: Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and Board Finance and Audit Committee
  • Financial Systems: Oversees the implementation and maintenance of financial management systems and tools.

What we're looking for:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or related field required.
    • CPA or CMA required
    • Minimum of 15 years of relevant senior financial management and leadership experience preferably in a Non-profit organization of similar or greater scope is preferred.
    • Healthcare experience a plus!
  • Skills:
    • Strong financial acumen and understanding of nonprofit accounting principles
    • Proficient in financial management software
    • Excellent leadership communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels.
