Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join of Civil/Site team in Philadelphia, PA. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for project management, leadership, profitability, and client management for the project design team. Responsibilities include project management, financial performance, preparation of technical proposals and invoices, monitoring of project budgets, staff supervision, scheduling of key projects, and responsibility for the design tasks associated with civil engineering projects. The Senior Project Manager will work alongside Project Managers, existing office staff and senior management to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines. Responsibilities
- Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy the client as well as control work and productivity.
- Identify the project team, work packages and tasks, evaluation methods, productivity targets, schedule of deliverables and manpower required on projects.
- Responsible for the quality control/quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
- Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
- Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, schedule of events and an estimation of manpower requirements as necessary.
- Participate in formulating and coordinating proposals and provides other Marketing support, including Business Development.
- Hold team meetings ensuring procedures governing review and approval of projects are followed prior to submission of completed work.
- Negotiate with clients on any scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules subject to supervisors' approval.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with all employees involved in the project to ensure high utilization rates (i.e. Project team meetings).
- Review monthly man-hour and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the predetermined profit goal.
- Ensure everyone involved is working in accordance with all project planning and profit control procedures.
- Ensure that all budgets affecting the project schedule and/or fee budget are discussed with the client. Ensure that all out-of-scope work and associated feeds are approved by the client prior to performing the services.
- Solicit help and involvement from Department Managers and any other managers to troubleshoot any technical problems.
- Works efficiently with the Billing Department to authorize and transmit bills to client. Follows up with clients for timely payments.
- Mentor Project Managers and junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices and enhancing corporate objectives.
- Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
- Review time sheets of direct reports during a specified reporting period.
- Evaluate Employee Performance in accordance with company policy.
- May oversee the activities of assigned staff, including but not limited to timesheet review and approval, performance evaluation and daily supervision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 10+ years of site design
- PE required
- Knowledge of local city, county and state land use processes and regulations (PA)
- Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analyses, grading and other site development related designs
- Experience in land development, required.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and the ability to mentor junior staff to enhance their design skills.
- Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Attention to detail with exceptional analytical and judgment capabilities.
- Construction oversight, preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Advanced technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and other site development related designs.
- Dedicated, responsive, and organized.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
