JOB DESCRIPTION: Our Inpatient Rehabilitation team is seeking a collaborative physical therapist who is dedicated to working with complex and neurologically involved patients. This position can be considered for part time up to full time hours and is a permanent position. Our inpatient rehabilitation team is a unique group within our health network as the only licensed acute inpatient rehabilitation unit at the UVMHN, with a dynamic and skilled group of teammates providing interdisciplinary care. Candidate experience in acute care or outpatient therapy would be preferred in order to enhance the services provided in the inpatient rehabilitation setting and to support the needs of patients as they progress through the continuum of care. Physical therapists diagnose and manage movement dysfunction, enhance physical and functional abilities, and promote optimal quality of life as it relates to movement and health. Physical therapists prevent the onset, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities that may result from diseases, disorders, conditions, or injuries. Physical therapists function as an essential member of therapy and multidisciplinary teams providing direct care to patients. They teach and prepare patients/families and caregivers for continued care after discharge. The physical therapist may be involved in consultative services within the organization and in the community. The physical therapist demonstrates dedication to professional growth and development and to the continuous improvement of patient care. EDUCATION: Bachelor's of Science or higher degree from an Accredited Physical Therapy program. Licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of Vermont.
