About This Role:

The Academic Services Coordinator (ASC) will assist the department head and undergraduate and graduate program directors of Agricultural Economics with administering and managing the departments' teaching programs. The ASC will be the first point of contact for undergraduate and graduate students and will assist students and their faculty advisors in providing a successful academic experience in our department, from enrollment to graduation. Some job duties include but not limited to;

-Serve as academic programs coordinator for the Department of Agricultural Economics, under the direction of the department head and undergraduate and graduate Program Directors

-Organize and coordinate enrollment of incoming students.

-Provide information to students and faculty regarding curriculum, scholarships, and employment opportunities.

-Assist graduate students in implementing required graduate school forms, policies, and procedures

-Coordinate the graduate student orientation each fall and spring

-Monitor graduate and undergraduate student progress on degree requirements and follow up with students when needed.

-Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of undergraduate and graduate students, including planning and attending recruitment events. Occasional in-state travel will be required.

-Coordinate prospective students' visits

-Train and support departmental faculty in academic advising

Worksite Options:

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree OR Educational equivalency determined by the hiring manager, and three years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • M.S. in College Student Development, student Services, Academic Advising, Agricultural Economics, or related field.
  • Experience with student records, academic advising, and teaching.
  • Experience with Kansas State University Information System (KSIS), Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS), and Student Success Collaborative (SSC).
  • Excellent communication skills in written and oral English.
  • Strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate advising.
  • Strong commitment to expanding and fostering diversity.
