The Impact You'll Make

Join Lam as an Electrical Hardware Designer and create innovative designs that improve costs, reliability, and advancements in next-generation products. You'll apply digital design, CAD software, and interpret engineering drawings to implement designs that solve material and manufacturing process challenges. What You'll Do
  • Create and maintain detailed drawings of complex interconnect and cable assembly of Lam Products.
  • Design and develop printed circuit board (PCB) layouts and routing to ensure optimal performance and reliability of hardware components.
  • Implement design changes for parts and assemblies, including changes to address issues identified in supplier build or problem reports.
  • Identify, qualify, and propose Commercially Off the Shelf (COTS) or OEM parts based on defined criteria.
  • Create engineering documentation, identify technical risks, and conducts design reviews in support of design efforts.
Who We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience; or an Master's degree with 3+ years' experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in collecting data, performing data analysis, and problem solving.
  • Experience with PCA design and layout using OrCAD.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware prototyping and troubleshooting in a lab environment, demonstrating a willingness to engage in practical, hands-on work.
  • Fundamental understanding of electrical engineering, engineering/design methods and processes, and engineering drawing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the semiconductor equipment industry.
  • Experience in global cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.
  • Understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts.
  • Experience with Cable Harness, Schematics and Interconnect using E3 Zuken.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
