Sanitary Disposal Diesel Mechanic

Sanitary Disposal, aWasteConnections company, is looking for a Journeyman Diesel Mechanicto join our team inHermiston, Oregon.

Schedule is Monday - Friday, Shift is10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Starting wage is$30-$35.00/hour DOE.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Repairs include but are not limited to,routine maintenanceand repairing engines chassis and body components,hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels and tires.
• Inspects equipment and/or trucks for condition,operations, parts and fluid levels, differentials, final drives, pump drives, andhubs.
• Knowledge ofhydraulicsrepair is required.
• Utilizes vehicle computerelectronicssystems to interpretfailure modesto initiate or assign repairs.
• Conductssafetychecks on vehicles and equipment.
• Completes required paperwork utilizingfleet maintenancesoftware program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on DriverVehicle InspectionReports.
• Performsmaintenancerelated work as required.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area incompliancewith corporate and OSHA standards.
• Performs requiredsafetyprotocols while working on vehicles.
• Ability to effectively communicateneeded repairs or tasks.
• Extensivephysicalactivity. Requires strenuousphysicalwork;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
• Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair trucks on the road. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basicsafetyprecautions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 3-5 yearsof experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above.
• Valid Class A or B CDL withair brakesendorsementpreferred or ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
• Must provide own personal tools.
• Welding/fabrication experience is ahuge plus!
• To be eligible for employment, candidate must pass a criminal background check, drug panel screening & have an acceptable motor vehicle report.
