Position Overview
Accessible Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Systems (ATLAS), a research center at the University of Kansas (KU), is seeking a Science Research Lead to lead the development of cognitive learning map models that represent students' knowledge, skills and understandings in science with a focus on K-12 instruction and assessment. The Science Research Lead will provide technical skills in research design, management, and dissemination for projects focused on developing models of science learning, and will collaborate with internal and external partners on product development, project design, and implementation. Additional responsibilities will include collaborating with test development and professional learning teams to develop high quality assessment, instructional, and professional development materials in science for a variety of audiences.

Activities include:
15% Collaborate across functional teams to develop high-quality, accessible, map-based educational materials to support teaching and learning of science for all learners. Responsibilities include using knowledge of science education and the Next Generation Science Standards to review instructional guides, professional development materials, and other documents to support teaching and learning science, including resources intended for teachers of students with extensive support needs. 10% Communicate with external audiences including state departments of education and professional organizations. Present information related to learning maps to technical and non-technical audiences. 5% Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements

Advertised Salary Range Minimum $65,000, commensurate with experience
