Lark Clinic Job Duties Include:

  • Accept referrals from campus primary care providers, sports medicine physicians, therapists, coaches, trainers, professors or administration who suspect any student mental health concerns.
  • Attend annual campus wellness fairs and tabling events to raise mental health awareness and promote psychiatric services to students, athletes, and their families.
  • Collaborate with campus primary care providers and therapists regarding specific student/athlete treatment and progress towards goals.
  • Assist in required mental health evaluations for student athletes annually as outlined by NCAA regulations and be available to provide timely assessment upon any positive screening results.
  • Ability to identify and/or escalate an athlete's need for a higher level of care as it relates to various mental health concerns such as substance use, psychosis, malnutrition, suicidality, etc.
  • Attend monthly treatment team meetings with therapists, trainers, sports medicine physicians, athletic director and coaches to maintain the collaborative team approach towards student athlete psychiatric care.
  • Assess any student/athletes' requests for mental health academic/housing accommodations and provide thorough documentation for further review by the disability access services team.
  • *Preferred experience in assessing and treating more prominent conditions within athletics including performance anxiety, mood disorders, sleep difficulties, eating disorders, substance abuse, stress reduction, and time management.
