Overview
HILGARTWILSON, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Staff Scientist II with two to five years of experience to assist in planning and implementing environmental and natural resources projects. This position may be responsible for performing site environmental surveys, preparing technical reports, collecting field data and samples, and interpreting data. This position will work closely with a team of environmental professionals, including engineers, geologists, and GIS specialists. We are looking for an employee to work out of our Phoenix, AZ office. The position will involve conducting environmental due diligence, environmental site assessments/ property condition assessments, soil and groundwater investigations, and technical report preparation. This position may also support permitting and compliance activities under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water Act (e.g., jurisdictional/ wetland determinations and permitting), and similar/ related programs, Daily activities may include site reconnaissance, oversight of soil borings/ exploration, collection of soil and groundwater samples, laboratory data management, and report preparation. This position is expected to have a roughly 30% - 70% balance between field and office work which will vary based on project needs. The ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Science degree in geology, earth science, environmental science, or environmental engineering. Responsibilities
