Working Title: Research Services Professional Entry Level

Job Summary:



The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has a full-time opening for a Research Services Professional in the Division of Reproductive Sciences, whose principal investigator is a basic/translational research scientist. The selected individual will conduct research focused on placental development utilizing stem cells in a tissue culture dish. The candidate will be open to learning and executing advanced cell culture and imaging techniques. Stem cell and organoid culture requires some hours worked on the weekends and occasional holidays. The candidate will also assist in basic lab maintenance and adherence to environmental health and safety policies.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Maintain stem cell lines, trophoblast cells, 3D organoid cultures
  • Preparation of inactivated feeder cells
  • DNA isolation and genotyping by PCR, as needed for cell identification
  • Handling procurement for lab supplies and services for the lab
  • Training new employees, students and volunteers
  • Comply with university policy on lab operations
  • Other duties as assigned



Work Location:



Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Maintain stem cell lines, trophoblast cells, 3D organoid cultures
  • Preparation of inactivated feeder cells

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as

$45,000 - $57,240

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
