JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Support designs new or special products and makes modifications or improvements on a standard line of products. Utilizes computer aided drafting techniques to perform applicable drafting work. Assignments are similar to those of the Design Technician II but projects do not involve the diversity, complexity or extensive technical aspects.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Works from specifications as to product requirements.
  • Investigates work pertinent to the design and maintain reference criterion.
  • Ensures design meets customer specifications on Aero products in collaboration with design engineers.
  • Assists engineering to analyze manufacturing and material costs.
  • Creation of production schedule prints.
  • Support Development of designs that can be produced economically to maintain or improve company's competitive position(new design/PPR).
    • Creation and Maintenance of production prints through engineering change notices
  • May follow up the construction and testing of pilot models.
  • Assists with analyzing results and redesigns if required. (Design iterations with mfg./quality)
  • Assists in the preparation of layout drawings and detailing. Work is subject to check.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

  • Requires completion of a 2 year technical degree program and no experience is required.
  • "This position is subject to policies and procedures set forth by the State Department and applicants who do not meet such requirements will not be eligible for the position".

Travel: Some travel is required. 10-20%
