LabVIEW Engineer II - Plymouth, MN - Hybrid

Daikin Applied is seeking a LabVIEW Engineer II who will design, modify, develop, and implement LabVIEW programming applications for new and existing HVAC lab facilities. They will be expected to participate in the testing process through development and maintenance of LabVIEW software, review and analysis, training and development of users, and release of lab data.

Location: Hybrid, Plymouth, MN

What you will do:



  • Interface with internal client groups to understand all planned projects and meet project schedule deadlines with a focus on chillers testing
  • Design and model testing software for chiller and lab equipment, interfacing with other software and hardware components comprising a lab data acquisition and control system
  • Design output data organization and structure as needed in partnership with other software developers and engineering customers
  • Act as primary technical resource for troubleshooting issues with LabVIEW applications
  • Maintain and improve code management and organization, as part of a development team across locations and facility types
  • Train and coach users on operation of the software, and maintain user feedback channels for continuous improvement of existing software
  • Determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products in partnership with a test engineering team
  • Cooperate and effectively work with laboratory, development engineering, and digital engineering teams
  • Direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of installations

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree from ABET accredited institution, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
  • 2-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • LabVIEW experience and/or certification
  • Requires knowledge of principles and practices of engineering, preferably in the HVAC industry
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills
  • Extensive problem-solving and computer skills
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with PLC's and HVAC
  • Experience working in R&D/lab setting
  • Proficient with fundamentals of instrumentation, including RTDs, thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, and analog/digital data acquisition.
