Project Manager working directly with BC's Technology clients as they develop sites to serve as data center campuses. BC is currently supporting hyperscale data center client across the US, as they are adding dozens more sites in next few years. The role may expand to include land development for other private clients - such as those in the power generation and transmission sectors.

Detailed Description:

Our clients are responsible for all work needed for a data center campus, other than the data center (DC) building itself. This typically includes offsite infrastructure of water, sewer, and road projects; as well as clearing and grading the site. Work includes platting, rezoning, permitting, easements, community relations, design, and construction.

The successful PM will be BC's point person with client and work with our team of specialists (water, permitting, etc). Our PM will be a trusted partner to the client's PM, becoming the person with second best understanding of land development of the sites.

Daily work activities for this role include leading site development pre-construction activities, risk identification and mitigation plan development, and actively leading communication on schedule issues. Responsibilities likely to include:



  • Coordinate with internal team including land development,design, construction, and environmental teamleaderstodevelop off-site utility planning, easement acquisition strategies, and traffic management.
  • Identify permit requirements and associated risks; manage permitting processfor projects to enable site development and construction. Communicate requirements to team clearly.
  • Communicate key risks, mitigations, and policies to internal stakeholders.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify solutionsto resolve delays to construction or other activities due to permitting delays.
  • Identify permitting agency engagement strategy and represent our client in key meetings with applicable Authorities having Jurisdiction (AHJ), regulatory agencies, stakeholders,and the public tofacilitatedatacenter development.
  • Support key strategic relationships with AHJs, regulatory agencies, government officials and other key external stakeholders. If client requests, act as primary point of contact for all discussions around permitting, planning approvals, and pre-construction delivery.
  • Manage permit approval conditions to ensure compliance.



Desired Skills and Experience:



  • Role open to any BC location. Preference for either near sites or near client's PMs. Sites are across US but many are in upper Midwest, the Carolinas, and the southwest.
  • Prefer 5-15 years' experience
  • Require experience with land development, siting, and/or permitting of large (e.g., over 100,000 square foot buildings; not residential neighborhood developments)
  • Team player. The PM will work with a large team - including BC specialists, active client participants, and local government agencies. Our clients have multiple sites - they bring a balance of autonomy and standardization that the successful candidate will need to work within.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a highly responsive, capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities.
  • Lead meetings with jurisdictional authorities, the client, and internal teams to advance project work.
  • Highly organized with the ability to coordinate the work of multiple team members including subconsultants.
  • Experienced with Gantt chart schedule, using MS Project, including use of predecessor logic.
  • Experienced in permitting required for land development (both environmental permits and building permits)
  • Experienced in land development from planning through construction.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and federal, state, and local regulators
  • Self-starter, results-oriented and able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Willing to travel up to 15%


Salary Range:

Location A: $131,000 - $179,000

Location B: $144,000 - $197,000

Location C: $157,000 - $215,000
