- Direct Sales to accounts in assigned territory
- Establish new customer relationships and maintain current ones.
- Provide technical support for chemical applications to existing and potential customers
- Perform customer needs assessments to cultivate additional business
- Grow profitability of territory with pricing and additional products or quantity of current products
- Keep upper management informed of competitive developments in territory
- Complete monthly reports and market summary for territory
- Assist in developing our annual strategic plan for territory
- Conduct onsite product testing and selection for swimming pool and municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment applications.
- Assist trade organizations by participating in professional training seminars
- Conduct plant trials for potable water and wastewater applications
- Troubleshoot customer's systems and make recommendations for performance improvements
- Assists customers in making potable water scale and corrosion treatment recommendations.
ABOUT YOU
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience preferred in the municipal and /or industrial chemical field.
- Proven efficiency and competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel required.)
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with a service-oriented focus.
- Detail orientation, conceptual, and organized, as well as flexible and perceptive.
- Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong Negotiation Skills
- Valid Driver's license in good standing
- Must have strong relationship skills and the ability to work in collaboration with both internal and external customers and co-workers.
- Attention to detail, good organizational and prioritization skills are important. Need to be proactive with internal drive to follow through.
- Must have demonstrated initiative, ability to work independently, and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Must be flexible to respond to urgent customer needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly travel throughout territory via personal vehicle or company vehicle
- Occasionally ride along with Technical Route Sales Drivers in DOT Class WTG trucks
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds several times a day.
- Ability to sit, stand, move about and ascend stairs or ladders for up to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to work in facilities where there may be a variety of temperatures in facilities that do not have air conditioning.
- Able to perform manual dexterity tasks - Requires fine motor skills including the ability to grasp and work with tools.
