Florida International University (FIU) is amid a significant expansion to become a TOP50 public research university. To complement and expand on existing strengths in Cardiopulmonary Disease; Stroke, Aging, Cell Metabolomics, and Metabolism; Inflammation, Infection, and Immunity; Bioinformatics, and Biomedical Engineering, the FIU Center for Translational Science (FIU-CTS) in Port St. Lucie, FL invites applicants with research expertise in these areas. This location is adjacent to the Cleveland Clinic Florida Research and Innovation Center and the Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital. Candidates can develop joint and collaborative research in FIU-Cleveland Clinic research programs. The FIU-CTS in Port St. Lucie, Florida, is approximately a 2-hour drive from the FIU Modesto Maidique main campus in Miami, FL. Teleconference and seminar facilities are available to maintain close communication and collaboration among faculty, students, and staff. The cities of Port St. Lucie, Pembroke Pines, and West Palm Beach are attractive and vibrant family-oriented communities with excellent school systems and housing. Successful candidates are expected to have a PhD and/or an MD with post-doctoral training in a related field. The successful candidate will be expected to build and maintain a robust research program (external funding, peer-reviewed scholarly work, national/international collaborations). S/he will also be expected to mentor graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. A competitive salary and start-up package are available to faculty with significant research funding.
