We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Designer that is focused on growth and development to join our business. In this role you will have the freedom and flexibility to contribute as a key member of an innovative and entrepreneurial team.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

* Join a high growth R&D Engineering team that is focused on growth and development within our extensive Data Solutions product line!

* Develop designs and documentation for new and existing products by creating 3D models, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and other documentation to fully define product for manufacture and ensure specifications are met. Work will include projects with significant scope and/or complexity and minimal supervision from engineers and supervisor.

* Research specifications and identify purchased components for use in designs

* Manage both small and some parts of large scale projects independently.

* Direct and assist with the build of components and assemblies for prototypes and pilot builds

* Assist in the development of engineering, drafting and release standards

* Perform tolerance stack analysis of complex assemblies and drawings prior to release of documentation

* Participate in the product development process, including design brainstorming and voice of customer activity

* Initiate/prepare Engineering Change Order (ECO) documentation, including the development of BOM's

* Perform required calculations to ensure all dimensions, tolerances and other specifications are accurate as represented

YOU HAVE:

* Two year technical degree preferably in drafting or design

* Ideally 3+ years of mechanical experience in drafting/design

* Experience using SolidWorks a must

* Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes

* Proficiency in mechanical, electrical or refrigeration for designing, assisting and directing the build of components and assemblies

* Experience with ENOVIA PLM system a bonus

* JD Edwards experience an asset

* Knowledge of brazing/welding of copper, stainless steel a plus

* Knowledge of tubing and manifold designs for fluids a bonus

* Knowledge of plastic part design beneficial
