Principal Responsibilities



  • Lead the technology development program responsible for developing a platform of technologies & solutions for customers in the Food and Beverage industry
  • Safety Leadership: Drive the Messer Americas safety agenda throughout the development process to ensure the company operates in a manner that is safe for our employees, customers and public
  • Drive a robust ideation process
  • Work in a collaborative, team environment to execute new and ongoing technology development projects
  • Prepare project plans for new technology projects
  • Prepare patents and manage the Food and Beverage IP portfolio
  • Work closely with counterparts in technical sales to commercialize new technologies
  • Provide technical recommendations and supporting statements in marketing documentation and exhibits
  • Develop knowledge transfer and training packages for technical sales and engineering teams
  • Provide technical leadership to support customer opportunities by demonstrating deep understanding of customer processes and the technologies Messer offers
  • Lead a high performing team


Qualifications

  • Strong technical background in low temperature processes, thermodynamics, heat transfer; industrial equipment and product development
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for developing new commercial technologies and building organizational support
  • Business Acumen, fundamental understanding of business cases, delivery of new products and economic impact.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.


Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering - Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is Preferred, Food Science, or Chemistry
  • Minimum 8-10 Years experience with demonstrated record of developing new technologies with market success
  • 3-5 years of experience in managing a technical team
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience with processes used in the Food industry (preferably freezing and chilling)


Other Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of processes used in the Food Freezing and Chilling
  • Industrial equipment fabrication and thermal engineering.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment and providing technical leadership
  • Proven record of recognizing and developing rough concepts into successful new products
