Description

The Government Department at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track position in Public Law at the rank of Assistant Professor. The search is open to scholars working in any specialty within the field of Public Law, including those working within or across the United States and other political jurisdictions, and analyzing questions from judicial behavior to institutionalism to constitutional development to political philosophy. Candidates who are intellectually curious and committed to rigorous and innovative approaches are particularly welcome.

Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and service to the Department, the College of Liberal Arts, and the University.

UT Government is one of the largest political science departments in the country with one of the strongest Public Law programs anywhere. Enjoying a close relationship with UT Law, nearly sixty faculty covering almost every other facet of the discipline, and a strong commitment to eclecticism in theoretical and methodological approaches, it is the perfect intellectual community for a Public Law scholar. Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. for appointment as Assistant Professor or expect to obtain it within a year of joining the faculty as Instructor. Preferred qualifications include a strong record of research and a trajectory that shows or promises teaching excellence.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position funding is subject to budget availability.
