0 Gundersen Tri-County is seeking an Exercise Physiologist! This is your opportunity to provide care to patients in Tri County's brand-new hospital. We serve patients in three primary care clinics, a 25-bed critical-access hospital, and in anUrgent Care and Emergency Department. What you will do:
  • Implement and supervise a physical exercise program patients
  • Works cooperatively with the healthcare team to improve the quality of patient care services delivered
  • Serve as a professional resource for Tri County Memorial and the community
  • Casual position-pick up hours when able
  • 8-hour day shifts

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 6 months of hire
  • Successful completion of a clinical internship or advanced training in exercise physiology

Job Description:

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse/Specialist or Exercise Physiologist implements and supervises a physical exercise program for disease and healthy populations. The employee communicates, organizes, and works cooperatively as a member of the healthcare team to continuously improve the quality of patient care services delivered. The employee serves as a professional resource for the department, the health care team, and the community.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Effectively performs specified assessment preceding, during and after exercise, and initiates appropriate intervention to maintain safety of patient.
2. Directs patients in the performance of prescribed exercise while at the facility and instructs patients in home exercise.
3. Communicates the program philosophy and goals of the exercise program to patients and assists patients in establishing appropriate goals of rehabilitation.
4. Implements appropriate teaching/counseling for patient and family members.
5. Communicates effectively with team members to provide quality patient care.
6. Evaluates effectiveness of various interventions and charts progress at appropriate intervals.
7. Obtains appropriate physician referrals, patient information and assesses various referrals to Exercise Physiology with also including Pulmonary Rehabilitation and PAD programs.
9. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.

Education and Learning:

REQUIRED

Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing, or Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology or equivalent.

Work Experience:

REQUIRED

Successful completion of clinical internship or advance training

DESIRED

1-3 years of experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation

License and Certifications:

REQUIRED

Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 6 months of hire

DESIRED

ACSM Exercise Specialist or Exercise Physiology Registry

Category I - All Employees in this job title have a reasonably anticipated risk of occupational exposure to blood and/or other potentially infectious materials.
