SUMMARY: (Basic purpose of the job)
The Institute for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases (i3), Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and the Center for Immunity and Inflammation (
CII) invites applications for a full-time appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are currently recruiting candidates with expertise in infectious disease and inflammation. The position will be supported by a competitive start up package with exceptional candidates being considered for further support as Chancellor Scholars.
In this role, the Associate/Assistant Professor will recruit new faculty and mentor junior faculty. |

REQUIREMENTS:
PhD required. Knowledge, skills and abilities include but are not limited to developing a strong independent research program. In addition, it is expected that the incumbent will participate in conferences, symposia, and other activities supporting research as well as participate in graduate education. It is expected that a substantial extramurally funded research program will be maintained at New Jersey Medical School. |

DUTIES
AND

1. Develop a strong independent, externally funded research program at
NJMS.
2. Collaborate with colleagues on multi-PI grants.
3. Participate in conferences, symposia, and other activities supporting research and scholarship.
4. Participate in graduate education.
5. Prepare and publish scientific manuscripts in high-impact journals.
6. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers' regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they
change or are modified.
7. Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code
of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned. |

PHYSICAL
DEMANDS:
Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to lift or exert force up to ten (10) pounds. Investigator will have a private office located near their designated laboratory.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
