As an IT/Computer Specialist III at Cherokee Nation Systems Solutions (CNSS) in Charleston, SC, you will play a crucial role in conducting research, performing studies, and analyzing problems to provide expert recommendations and solutions. With a bachelor's degree as a prerequisite and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a federal agency setting, you will utilize your expertise in information technology and related fields to address complex challenges.

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for IT/Computer Specialist III: Pay commensurate with experience.
  • Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided.

IT/Computer Specialist III Responsibilities Include:



  • Conduct research and perform studies and surveys to obtain data related to specific IT or computer-related disciplines.
  • Analyze problems and challenges within the field of specialization, utilizing knowledge of theory, principles, and technology to identify solutions.
  • Advise on or recommend solutions based on research findings and analysis, providing expert guidance to stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Utilize knowledge in various IT fields, including computer programming, security, systems analysis, database management, software development, and internet applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions that address identified needs and requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to project teams and stakeholders, assisting with the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions.
  • Leverage experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in tackling a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Exercise a wide degree of creativity and latitude in problem-solving, exploring innovative approaches to address challenges and achieve objectives.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in the IT industry, continuously updating skills and knowledge to remain current and relevant.
  • Communicate research findings, recommendations, and solutions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.



IT/Computer Specialist III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in information technology, computer science, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT or computer-related roles, preferably in a federal agency setting.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in fields defined as information technology, including computer programming, security, systems analysis, database management, software development, and internet applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, while demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the IT industry.
  • Previous experience conducting research, performing studies, and analyzing problems is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise creativity and initiative in addressing challenges and achieving goals.
  • Continuous learning mindset, with a commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies and trends.
  • IT certifications: CompTIA CISSP, CISM, SSCP, etc.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
