Daikin Applied is seeking an Automation Project Engineer in the NYC area. This role will plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned engineering work in conjunction with the project team regarding all controls aspects. This individual will monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and company policies and procedures. The Project Engineer will promote strong communication and ensure completion of project tasks of all parties on the projects to the project manager. Location: Deer Park, NY or Jersey City, NJ - Hybrid after training is completed.

What you will do:



  • Create plans and submittals using Visio, AutoCAD, or Bidtracer implements engineering projects, including defining tasks, activities, and milestones, per customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project.
  • Provide reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
  • Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
  • Complete project tasks to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
  • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Order material for projects from vendors.
  • Maintain inventory management of components on hand.
  • Evaluate, implement, and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Prepare interim and completion project reports.
  • Interface with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met.
  • Provide status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of prior HVAC controls experience
  • Excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including experience with Visio



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Bidtracer

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 - 125,000 plus an annual bonus in New York/New Jersey. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
