WOUND CARE DIRECTOR

Montefiore Medical Center
United States, New York, Bronx
Nov 24, 2024

The Montefiore Health System (MHS) Department of Wound Care is seeking a full-time Director at our Moses campus to join our world-class team of physicians and lead the daily Wound Care services at the center. The Director will report to the Chair of the MHS Department of Family and Social Medicine

Background

Montefiore Medical Center, part of Montefiore Health System, is a tertiary level of care medical center in New York and serves a large and diverse patient population. The MHS Department of Wound Care is dedicated to advancing the fields of medicine and surgery. As a teaching hospital, our attending Wound Care providers have numerous teaching opportunities and are a key component in training medical students, Residents, and Fellows.

Many patients with PAD will develop wounds that require multidisciplinary treatment. Patients with other medical conditions such as diabetes, renal failure, and immunosuppression from a variety of causes may also develop complex wounds.

The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery provides comprehensive wound care services to these patients with peripheral vascular disease and diabetes as well as other conditions. Our Wound Care physicians offer the full range of currently available treatments. Complementing Montefiore's wound care services is an active and well-respected hyperbaric medicine program. This program is led by nationally recognized specialists who are skilled in using Montefiore's five hyperbaric chambers to accelerate wound healing.

The Medical Director for the Wound Healing Program provides administrative and strategic leadership for wound healing services, including design, implementation, and management of a comprehensive clinical, operational, and financial framework across the system of care. The Director collaborates with administrative leadership across multiple services, including ambulatory, inpatient, nursing home, and hyperbaric to execute a cohesive strategy that aligns with the Family & Social Medicine mission, strategic plan, and operational priorities related to wound healing services. Responsibilities of the Director include:

  • Leadership and accountability for Wound Healing Services, programming across the inpatient and ambulatory sites of care at Montefiore Health and the system of care, direct management and supervision of the wound team, collaboration with operational leadership to provide expertise and guidance for inpatient and outpatient wound services, and development, monitoring, and acting upon clinical, financial, and operational metrics designed to continuously improve service delivery.
  • The Program Director will also regularly research and maintain expert knowledge of the latest evidence-based advances in wound healing services and novel approaches to wound care, disseminating information across the care team.
  • The individual in this role will analyze current and future growth trends in the clinical service and propose or revise programming to optimally position Montefiore and the system of care to meet the needs of the patient population.
  • Additionally, the Program Director will collaborate cross functionally with business and clinical leaders and staff to develop business plans, impact analyses, workforce plans, and other tools in support of program growth and success and to improve the clinical, operational, and financial outcomes of the program.
