Overview

We are seeking a Post-Doctoral Scientist - This position is in the Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery Research Team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge neuroscience research, particularly focusing on brain imaging and electrophysiological data analysis related to epilepsy and other neurological disorders. The data will be clinical data from human subjects. Strong programming and coding skills are required.

**This is a computational position and not a wet lab-based position at the bench. All work is with human data and no animal or tissue work will be done**

What Will You Be Doing?

    Conduct high-level research on brain MRI segmentation, depth electrode localization, and anatomical labeling.
  • Develop and implement advanced data analysis techniques for interpreting brain imaging and electrophysiological data as it relates to epilepsy and cognitive or motor behavior.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and students.
  • Prepare and publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals.
  • Present research outcomes at national and international conferences.
  • Contribute to grant writing and securing research funding.

What We Are Looking For?

  • A PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong background in neuroimaging and/or neurophysiology techniques and data analysis.
  • Experience with MRI segmentation, depth electrode localization, and anatomical labeling is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or R.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in scientific writing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to train and mentor laboratory staff and graduate students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with epilepsy research or cognitive neurophysiology.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and signal processing techniques.
  • Proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
