Rotating (United States of America) Sentara is hiring an IV Pharmacy Technician at Sentara RMH Medical Center for our Inpatient Pharmacy!

Status: Full Time

Shift: 7 days on 7 Days Off

Hours: Evenings 1430-0100

Schedule: Wednesday - Tuesday

Holiday Rotation

Required qualifications:

  • Virginia Pharmacy Technician license

  • National CPhT license through PTCB or NHA

  • Minimum 1 year Pharmacy Tech Experience

  • Minimum 3 months of IV Room Experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior hospital experience preferred

Job responsibilities:

  • Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist

  • Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders

  • Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy.

Job Summary

Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient focused and cost efficient drug therapy. Performs all functions of Pharmacy Technician I & II positions.

VA OR NC (depending upon the state location) Pharmacy Technician Registration Number and PTCB or NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). 1 year Pharmacy Technician, 3 months experience working in IV Room. CSPT Preferred

HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Certifications - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) - Certification - National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Pharmacy Technician
