As the Corporate Director, Continuous Improvement, you will spearhead innovative projects that enhance our operations from a corporate level. Your mission will include implementing strategic process improvements aimed at reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency throughout various divisions of the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: You will act as a change agent to identify and drive continuous improvement projects and facilitate the implementation of processes and cost saving opportunities. You are responsible for performing and evaluating economic analyses on projects to reduce negative variances.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: You will partner with Operations management, Maintenance/Engineering, Finance, supervisors, and production employees to develop ideas for improvement and potential solutions for problems. You will evaluate new technologies and processes with Engineering and coach management in tactical execution of strategic plans.
  • Capacity and Performance Management: You are accountable for facilitating capacity studies for future growing opportunities and implementing meaning metrics to set yield, labor, and supply standards. You will update plant capacity numbers and create reporting metrics for yield and labor performance.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: You will lead strategic planning and execution using techniques such as 4 Disciplines of Execution and SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) Analysis.
  • Leadership: Drives a positive employee experience through leadership by way of employee development and coaching.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, Business or related field and 10 + years of relevant manufacturing, maintenance, supply chain or engineering experience in a leadership role; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development is required.
  • Formal lean manufacturing training, required
  • Proven ability to build & interpret clear, concise senior leadership reports and presentations of key metrics (eg., quality and cost impacts, adherence & fill rate performance and cost impact, capacity utilization, and key cost drivers).
  • Energized by collaboration through travel to other locations ranging from 25% - 75% of the time depending on the initiative being executed.

OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

  • Advanced experience leading continuous improvement projects in manufacturing, maintenance, supply chain, distribution or engineering leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial engineering, project management, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience identifying and implementing continuous improvement plans, lean initiatives, 5S, value stream mapping, statistical process control, and six sigma to drive change.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, innovation and ability to operate autonomously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Excel.
  • Familiarity with SAP.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Mobility: Some positions may involve frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds. In more physically demanding roles, this weight may go up to 70 pounds.
  • Standing: You may need to stand for up to eight hours each day, especially during site visits or meetings.
  • Weather Conditions: Depending on the job context, you might work in various weather conditions, including exposure to outdoor elements.
  • Terrain: If you visit project sites, you may encounter uneven terrain, so mobility and adaptability are essential.
