Reporting to the Director of Budget and Restricted Funds and Workday Finance, the Grants Accounting Specialist will be primarily engaged in financial business, and restricted funds at the College level. This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of fiscal related tasks that are standard or regular support duties within an assigned department or program and for researching financial data, reconciliations and preparing reports. This position is governed by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.This position is in person, no remote option. Job Description
Salary $19.76 per hour Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of accounting principles and database management, various software applications, and of applicable laws, regulations, and policies of assigned section. Knowledge of customer service techniques. Ability to comprehend and assimilate technical and business related documents. Ability to apply policies and procedures and other applicable regulations associated with assigned department or program. Ability to conduct research, perform quantitative quality assurance reviews, and prepare reports. Skills Considered Essential for Success

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions; extended periods of time viewing computer monitor. The employee may be required to work or meet in the evenings and/or on weekends. Physical Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 25 lbs.; to operate office equipment which may require repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Required Qualifications The formal education of an Associate's degree in Accounting Technology or Finance. Additional requirements determined by the institution for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education. Preferred Education and/or Experience Previous experience in Grant Accounting or relevant field is preferred as well as working experience with Workday and Microsoft Office. Other necessary skills include strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail is also required. Advanced excel skills preferred.
