The HR Generalist will assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR department. This role involves supporting the HR function, including onboarding, performance management support, supporting wellness efforts, accurate record-keeping, general reporting, assistance ensuring HR compliance, payroll support, leading safety committee meetings, assisting with HR related training initiatives, conducting employment verifications, benefits and leaves administration, and various projects, as needed. The HR Generalist will play a key role in providing responsive customer service, supporting HR processes, maintaining positive employee morale, boosting employee retention, supporting safety and engagement initiatives, strengthening staff and employee relations, increasing job satisfaction, and promoting the firm's B Corp values.

Job Responsibilities:

• Respond to emails and phone calls within 24 hours
• Collaborate with HR team to implement and communicate HR programs, policies, and processes
• Promote wellness, employee engagement, DEI and other HR related firm wide initiatives
• Support new hire onboarding efforts
• Address day-to-day employee inquiries and concerns
• Assist with the performance management process and our employee recognition programs
• Benefits administration and the processing of various leaves of absence
• Develop and maintain working relationships with internal staff at all levels
• Ensure electronic personnel files are accurately maintained and filing is completed in a timely manner
• Maintain Human Resources Information System (HRIS), currently ADP WFN.
• Create and share ad hoc reports, analyzing data, if needed, in an accurate and concise manner
• Offboarding support
• Administer relevant training in compliance with applicable state laws
• Coordinate and support other initiatives as needed
• Minimize workplace injuries by leading Safety Committee meetings and related initiatives
• Participate and collaborate in various projects to gain exposure to different areas within the HR department
• Ensure HR practices and procedures are compliant and regularly assessed for streamlining and automation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant HR experience
• Ability to travel throughout the greater SF Bay Area
• Experience supporting a public accounting or professional services firm is highly preferred
• Knowledge of ADA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, SDI, Workers' Compensation, San Francisco Health Care Ordinance, Paid Sick Leave, EEO compliance
• Working knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
• Advanced ADP skills and experience is required
• PHR Certification or similar is a plus
• Strong technical skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint
• Experienced with and comfortable working in a paper-less environment
• Strong work ethic with excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Critical thinking skills and excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
• Motivated to make a meaningful impact on our firm and to develop oneself professionally
• Work effectively with a diverse group of professionals across multiple offices and within the HR team
• Intellectually curious to learn, grow, and apply employment related laws, regulations and HR knowledge

• Ability to work independently while exercising sound professional judgment
• Flexibility to work on a variety of assignments; able to multi-task in a very fast-paced, deadline driven environment

• Strong desire to take a people-first approach while providing excellent support to our employees and partners
• Knowledge of multi-state employment laws and HR practices

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $90,000*
