Position description

The Department of Asian American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), invites applications for part-time Lecturer positions (Non-Senate) with primary responsibility in teaching interdisciplinary courses in Asian American Studies for the 2024-2025 academic year. Appointments are usually per course, on a quarter by quarter basis. The UCLA Department of Asian American Studies offers a major, minor, a Pilipino Studies minor, a graduate concentration, and a Master of Arts.

Academic appointment dates are as follows: Winter Quarter (January 1-March 31, 2025), and Spring Quarter (April 1-June 30, 2025). Actual instruction dates can be different.

Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with teaching load. See Table 15 Unit 18 Faculty Pre-Six - AY (ucop.edu) for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position $68,247 - $83,936.

We are interested in any Asian American Studies class that would complement our curriculum, but are especially looking for applicants who can teach courses that satisfy our major/minor requirement of Global and Transnational Perspectives or Comparative and Intersectional Ethnic Studies.

Requirements: Applicants with a Ph.D. are preferred. Applicants who are advanced to Ph.D. candidacy or who have a M.A., M.F.A., or equivalent may be considered (currently enrolled UC students are not considered).
