Job Summary

This role is a key partner for market operational and financial performance of the PH Heart & Vascular Institute in coordination with the Administrator and the President of the Heart & Vascular Institute.

This role is a key collaborative partner with clinical and administrative leadership for the market.

Partners with the market chairs and chiefs to develop and implement key operational and clinical initiatives under the direction of the HVI Administrator and President.

Ensures integration of market clinical programs consistent with enterprise strategy.

The Director is the point person to implement strategic and growth initiatives as developed by the Administrator and President of the Institute.

This role has responsibility for cardiovascular operations in the market.

Accountabilities

  • Partners in the development of and responsible for the implementation, maintenance and adherence to practice management procedures as established by the medical group and the Institute to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with policies and procedures and the system's Code of Excellence. Leads and administers allpractice operations within the market. Responsible for the oversight of practice facilities management and ensuring needs of the physicians and the market relative to business development (including ancillary services), marketing, IS and other functions as determined by the Administrator and President. Provides input to the Institute leadership team for strategy, planning, business development, network development, clinical integration, and population health initiatives.

  • Facility and Practice Site Optimization. Proactively serves as the facility planning partner to ensure space allocations are efficient and cost-effective. Optimizes patient flow and staff workflow within and among market practices; monitors and reports on levels of staff and provider productivity. Responsible for directing and completion of physician practice component of environment of care and other site reviews/audits for respective practicelocations. Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies.

  • Practice Development and Growth. Facilitates the implementation of market's practice development initiatives.Responsible for working with various entities to facilitate strategic planning, developing business relationships,ensuring process enhancement, while promoting effective negotiations and ensuring successful plan completion. Works with a collaborative team to submit new projects, programs, and services to the Administrator and President and facilitates the progress of those projects once approved.

  • Physician Engagement. In support of the Administrator and President, engages physicians in a partnering relationship to translate strategic targets into practice specific business/action plans. Works with Institute leadership to facilitate alignment of all physicians and advanced practice providers within andacross markets. Monitors, evaluates, and works with physician leaders to develop action plans around provider productivity to ensure efficient and productive use of physician and staff resources within the market.

  • Staff/Management Recruitment and Retention. Recruits and selects appropriate staff for departmental practices within the constraints of approved budgets. Trains, evaluates, and monitors work performance of designated staff. Counsels, disciplines, and terminates designated staff as appropriate. Prepares and conducts timely performanceappraisals.

  • Financial Performance. Assists the institute administrator with developing, monitoring, and managing financial performance. Also directs the management of practice sites to key financial performanceindicators.

  • Community Engagement. Identifies and engages practices to be actively involved in various Institute community relations initiatives, including: physician involvement & exposure; governmental relationshipsand volunteerism; local business engagement; actively involved in chamber.

  • Operates effectively in a matrixed environment, partnering with market operations leadership in the acute setting and collaborating with counterpart across markets as applicable efficiencies and standardization opportunities arise.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

Job has direct and indirect supervision of employees that includes financial accountability, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's Degree

  • 2 years related experience

In lieu of the Above Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degreeand 8 years leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
