Your Role With Us:

Salem Health Hospital is a 644 acute-care beds community hospital that provides care to patients throughout the Willamette Valley in Northwest Oregon, located 50 miles south of Portland International airport. The Salem Health system includes over 330 providers across different specialties including Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery.

We are seeking General Cardiologists to join our hospital-based cardiology program. The hospital currently has a state of the art, fully functional Cath Lab with 7 suites and hybrid OR access. Our Cath Lab performs >1800 diagnostic coronary angiograms and > 500 coronary interventions annually, and is supported by 2 General Cardiologists, 3 Interventional Cardiologists, 2 Physician Assistants and 1 Cardiac Electrophysiologist. Our Echo and Vascular Lab are ICAL and ICAVL accredited. Our continuum of care includes onsite Cardiac Navigation and Rehabilitation Services, and we have an active ACC registry including a data analyst coordinator.

Our patients receive comprehensive medical services through our robust Medical Group of more than 330 employed providers, including 20 specialties and advanced practice practitioners. Salem Health Medical Group focuses on enhancing the patient experience and providing higher levels of care coordination. Background/Expertise:

  • Graduated from an approved school of medicine. Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited fellowship training program in Cardiology.
  • Current unrestricted M.D./D.O. Oregon medical license
  • Current unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease by the ABIM
    • Applicants who are not Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease by the ABIM or have Special Qualifications in Cardiology from the AOA, must obtain board certification within five years from completion of the applicable Residency and/or Fellowship program for the privileges being requested at Salem Hospital.
    • For Applicants who were granted core level Cardiology privileges prior to the Board Certification requirement of January 2005, the Board Certification requirement is waived. However, all other requirements with regard to education, training, and current competency must be met.
  • ACGME or AOA accredited fellowship training program in Cardiology
  • Demonstrate experience and current competency, to include the performance of at least 100 core cardiology procedures in the previous 24 months
  • Maintain current American Heart Association ACLS certification
