Job Summary: The Havener Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Ohio State University (OSU) is a growing practice. We are currently seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in the retina division specializing in surgical retina and assisting with pediatric retina. Adult surgical retina call would be shared amongst 8 OSU retina surgeons and pediatric call amongst 2 OSU retina surgeons, with one already in place for two years. ROP screening is not expected as this is done by an experienced team of pediatric ophthalmologists. This is an open search for tenure or non-tenure track at the Assistant, Associate, or higher commensurate with experience. This individual will be responsible for patient care, research, and education at OSU Wexner Medical Center and our community Satellite clinics. Pediatric Retina would be at Nationwide Childrens Hospital.

The Physician provides licensed medical care including diagnosis, treatment (inclusive of surgery or pre/post-surgical care where appropriate), case management and clinical research.The Physician manages complex and sometimes unpredictable situations. The Physician must be competent in technical, clinical and surgical skills (where appropriate), cognitive and interpersonal skills required to serve those patients receiving the above mentioned services.The Physician is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and physicians standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols), and adhere to key results areas of the Medical Center.

Required Qualifications: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required. State of Ohio and DEA licensure required.

Applicants must be board eligible or board certified in Ophthalmology by the time of appointment, and be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio. Qualified candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and have completed an approved residency program in Ophthalmology and fellowship training in Surgical Retina. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery by evidence of basic and/or clinical applied research and publications. Commitment to resident, fellow and medical student education is required.
