What You'll Do:



  • Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards
  • Perform operational duties relating to the service and repair of components for diesel engines, transmissions, torques, brakes, and other major components.
  • Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and overhauling mobile equipment and major components. Must be able to troubleshoot the cause of failure, inspect, measure, and utilize the reusable guidelines given in the OEM manuals
  • Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools in a safe manner throughout the shop.
  • Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed on a daily and monthly basis regarding all mobile equipment. Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form.
  • Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:



  • Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises
  • Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance
  • Must be able to use micrometers, depth mics bore scope, and another diagnostic tooling
