About the Job

About the Position:
The Department of Medicine's Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine seeks an Assistant Professor faculty. Primary Responsibilities include:
This academic track faculty member will devote clinical effort to providing high quality clinical care in a combination of both critical care and pulmonary medicine, with some concurrent education of trainees. The remainder of effort will be used for dedicated education and collaborative research activities with the expectation of demonstrated accomplishments consistent with promotion in the academic track (an average of at least one publication per year, for example). The clinical effort will be primarily at Woodwinds & St. Johns and may include time at one or more other Fairview Hospitals and Clinics (such as Fairview Southdale and/or Ridges Hospital). The faculty will participate actively and contribute to PACCS Division and Department of Medicine academic and clinical programs, particularly in critical care and the management of complex chronic lung diseases. Faculty will be expected to participate in multi-investigator studies and grants related to general pulmonary and/or critical care and other Division and Department research projects. Active participation in the Division's clinical and research conferences, journal club and core curriculum lectures and teaching of students, residents and fellows is expected. This position is ideal for recently trained, clinically adept pulmonologist-intensivists who are interested in building a practice that promotes high quality care in both academic and community settings and building an area of academic expertise.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have an M.D. or and have demonstrated high-level qualifications and in-depth knowledge in the area of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine including Board certification or eligibility in both areas.

Applicants must have the ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.
