Lead Engineer - Underbody / Lower / Upper Structures Engineering

• Lead 3D CAD modeling and detailing of body structure components and assemblies in NX.
• Maintain complete, parametric models, section cuts, and typical construction consistent with Body Structures standard work and best practices.
• Drive integration of assigned components into the PDM Tool and ensure compatibility with adjacent commodities.
• Apply DFM standards for stamped, cast, and fabricated parts (draw rules, flange and pierce limits, die direction, blank optimization).
• Use available tools and reports (e.g., formability, blank utilization, structural performance) to refine designs and resolve issues before release.
• Set up and communicate die vectors, die line-ups, and weld/adhesive access requirements with ME and suppliers.
• Ensure body structure designs meet crash, durability, stiffness, NVH, corrosion, and sealing requirements through close collaboration with CAE, PI, and Body Architects.
• Check clearances and interference for all mating and background parts, including mounting, assembly paths, tire flops, weld gun access, and tooling considerations.
• Support Upper/Lower Structures sync events with math readiness, gap/clearance integration, and issue resolution.

1. Serve as a technical liaison between the customer and the engineering team, and represent the engineering team in product development meetings.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CAE, manufacturing, materials, NVH, safety, suppliers).
3. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, best practices, and sustainability goals.
4. Provide technical documentation and design specifications.
