The Superintendent | West Course is responsible for directing and administering all related functions concerning agronomic practices, golf course maintenance and conditioning, and overall management of operations relating to the West golf course. Additionally, this position will be responsible for managing and coordinating golf championship logistics. The West Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Superintendent of Golf Courses and Grounds. The position will represent the PGA of America, its partners and related facilities in the utmost professional manner. This position is a key position within the PGA Frisco agronomic team and will work closely with other Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents throughout the entire facility. These facilities include PGA Frisco East, West, Short Course, Practice Facilities and all other areas encompassing the 600-acre facility. Responsibilities: * Partner with the Superintendent of Golf Courses & Grounds in the conditioning and presentation of the West golf course * Coordinate scheduling of all personnel assigned to the department * Assist in preparation and management of annual budget plans for the West course * Assist in building agronomic plans, scheduling, supervising and administering fertilizer and plant protectants * Hires, supervises and develops all staff members working on the West golf course * Supervisory, coaching and staff development experience with ability to conduct counseling, evaluations and provide progressive professional development * Be a strategic partner with other agronomic team leaders as well as professional golf staff * Strong commitment to technological advances in golf course maintenance and will assist in creating operational standards and procedures based on this knowledge * Establish sound irrigation and management philosophies and practices * Maintain complete records for all maintenance procedures Qualifications: * Associates or Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of progressive agronomic related experience * Proven history of exceptional golf course conditioning and presentation * Coordination and skill set in conducting major golf championships * Understanding of budget management, forecasting and expense tracking * Wetland and native grass management * Understanding of budget management, forecasting and expense tracking * Knowledge in maintaining complete records for all maintenance procedures * Media relations experience Omni Hotels & Resorts is an equal opportunity/AA/Disability/Veteran employer.
